(I was absent Monday, January 5th)
I love this photo because even with the tornado damage and hard times the people of Kansas must have gone through, they still found it in their hearts to be loyal to the United States, and have hope for the future.
I like this photo because it portrays some emotions of the six year old Afghan refugee while playing with some other kids. Also, I like how just by posing for one picture someone could get a thousand words out of this.
1. One of my favorite songs of 2014 was Bailando by Enrique Iglesias. I loved this song because it's super catchy and upbeat and also doesn't have rude wording in it, unless it's in Spanish and I can't understand it. This song is perfect for dancing, for example my Spanish teacher taught a Zumba dance class to this song. I still haven't gotten tired of Bailando even though it is played frequently on the radio because it suits all age groups.
2. I think one of the most important new topics of 2014 was the concern and diagnoses of Ebola. This was and still is a scare in many places around the world, and I remember how popular the rumor of the disease became, like overnight. Ebola brought lots of worry to anyone getting sick and tons of grief to the families with diagnosed members. Not only do they have to hope and pray for the best for their family member, but also go through awful procedures just to make sure they don't have it as well.
3. Although I had never heard of him before reading through some articles, I think that Ted Sarandos is easily one of the most important people of 2014, on an entertainment level. Netflix was already popular before, but I think 2014 was the year that it took off, and I feel like almost all of the people I know own a Netflix account. I don't mind that it has gotten so popular because I use it frequently too and it's great for going back to watch old movies whenever you want.
4.
I think Sam Smith is one of the most successful and widely know new composers of 2014. He recently became really popular this year, especially after ACL in Austin. He falls under the entertainment category and I think he should be appreciated for making such a big appearance in 2015.
My Holliday
1. This holiday, something I will always remember was going hiking with my family in North Carolina. The scenery was beautiful and it was also super fun to visit my gradparents and cousins.
2. My resolutions for the 2015 year are to make even better grades than I do now, and live a healthier lifestyle.
3. In 2015, I am looking forward to turning 15 and being able to start driving. Also, I am looking forward to hopefully getting a new dog for my birthday in May. :)
